JoshingTalk Space Art
Submitted by: Josh Taylor, United Kingdom
My latest project shows for the first time ever, a piece of art work being created in near Space. Tied to a weather balloon with nothing more than string and gaffer tape, 4 coloured paints dripped onto a canvas whilst being hoisted to 100,810 feet. Each colour represents the view of Earth from Space- Green for land, Blue for sea, Brown for desert and Yellow for the sun. I also calculated the volume of each solution to relate to the percentage of Earth as we see it e.g. 45ml blue for 65% of sea. I did it to combine Mother Nature, science and art showing that when we work together in unison with these things, we can push boundaries and achieve new feats.
